Oh my gosh y’all… He did EVERYTHING right!!! On Saturday, September 3, 2016, Shane asked me to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together. Little did I know that this had been in the works since July 4th weekend when we took a trip to my family lakehouse in Texas, where he asked my daddy in person for his blessing while I was out for a run one morning. We had been planning a weekend trip to Charleston, SC to explore and have one last summer getaway weekend for Labor Day. After a day of exploring and shopping, we got ready for our 7pm dinner reservation and went to White Point Gardens for a stroll before heading to the restaurant. I definitely felt like something was going on because when I wrapped my arm around him, I could feel his heart beating like a drum. We sat down at a little park bench and just the way he was looking at me, I then knew for sure. “You know I can’t imagine a day of my life without you right?” he said. “Yes…” “And you know how much I love you and that you mean the world to me?” “Yes…” Then he stood up, hands shaking, pulled out the most beautiful ring and got on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!! AHHH!!!! While all this was happening, I could hear camera clicks going off like crazy. He had hired a photographer to meet us at the park to capture the moment and take these fantastic engagement photos. Scroll down to see what else he planned…

After our photo session, we were completely late for our dinner reservation but we didn’t care one bit. When we got to the restaurant, we walked to the back and SURPRISE… my parents had flown in from Texas and Shane’s family had come in from NC and I was just so overwhelmed with joy that I burst into tears. Shane had planned this weekend since the 4th of July for us to all be together for this occasion and I could not have asked for it to be more wonderful in any way!
